Everything you need to know about getting started with LRG Energy Design.

What should I send to get started?
For every service, send the full project address, scope of work, complete floor-area breakdowns, site plan, fully dimensioned floor plans drawn to scale with a window and door schedule or size callouts, exterior elevations of all sides, and cross sections. Include structural drawings if available; otherwise, structural member sizes used in our calculations will be estimated based on experience. Include any specified or preferred window U-factor and SHGC values, insulation R-values, HVAC size and type, and water-heater size and type. View the complete plan checklist →
How much does a Title 24 report cost?
Standard residential pricing is $160 for 0–1,499 sq. ft., $210 for 1,500–2,999 sq. ft., and $260 for 3,000–4,999 sq. ft. Projects of 5,000 sq. ft. or more and multifamily projects receive a custom quote. These prices include standard report preparation and registration. We confirm the final price and number of reports after reviewing the plans.
Do you guarantee approval of the report?
Yes. We guarantee approval of the Title 24 report. Plan-check corrections are included when they are not caused by changes to the plans originally reviewed. Design changes may be required to achieve energy compliance and registry approval. The guarantee covers the Title 24 report, not approval of the entire project or issuance of a building permit.
How soon can I receive my report?
We confirm the current turnaround by email after reviewing your plans. Next-day rush service is available for an additional $100 when scheduling and project readiness allow. Please tell us about your deadline before approving the quote.
When is the deposit due?
A 50% deposit is required. Your project is scheduled after you approve the quote by email. To hold the scheduled work date, the deposit is due by 6 p.m. Pacific on the day before that date.
What happens after the report is prepared?
We email a pre-registered copy for your review and approval. After you approve it, final payment is required before CHEERS registration. We then coordinate registration and required signatures and provide registered PDF deliverables in 8½ × 11 and 24 × 36 formats.
Which square footage is used for an addition quote?
Include the existing house, proposed addition, and attached garage. A 1,200 sq. ft. existing home + 200 sq. ft. addition + 400 sq. ft. attached garage totals 1,800 sq. ft. for pricing and falls in the $210 tier. We review the plans to confirm the scope.
What if the plans change after the report is completed?
Email the updated plans, project address, and a description of the changes. Revisions caused by plan changes are separate from included plan-check corrections. Any additional fee and timing will be confirmed by email before the revision work begins.
Do you serve projects outside Los Angeles?
Yes. LRG Energy Design serves California projects online, including Southern California, the Inland Empire, the Central Valley, the Bay Area, and the Sacramento region. Project intake and coordination take place by email.
Which Energy Code applies to my project?
California’s 2025 Energy Code applies to buildings whose permit applications are submitted on or after January 1, 2026. Send your permit application date and any building-department guidance so we can confirm the applicable requirements. California Energy Commission guidance ↗
How do I pay, and do I need a PayPal account?
All invoices are sent by email through PayPal. You can pay with a credit or debit card, no PayPal account is required, and LRG adds no card-payment charge. When you are ready to move forward, provide the invoice name and billing email.
What if my designer is not registered with CHEERS?
The project designer signs off as the designer, and LRG signs as the energy consultant. Your designer can register with CHEERS, or you may choose to have LRG sign off as the report designer as a convenience. Let us know your preference before registration.
How does LRG help me save before, during, and after construction?
Before construction, our low report prices help reduce your upfront costs. During construction, we look for cost-effective energy-compliance solutions that help avoid unnecessary building expenses. After construction, energy-efficient design choices help reduce ongoing energy use and can lower operating costs. Our focus is practical energy design that respects your budget at every stage.
How do I get a Manual J HVAC load calculation quote?
Email your plans and project details to request a Manual J HVAC load calculation quote. This service is priced separately from Title 24 reports; the $160, $210, and $260 report tiers do not apply. The same plan checklist applies to all services. We confirm the calculation scope, price, deliverables, and turnaround before work begins.
Does the project form automatically send my plans?
No. The form prepares a draft in your email app addressed to lrgdesigns914@gmail.com. Attach your plans, review the draft, and press Send in your email app. The website does not upload files or send the email for you. You can also email us directly.
