Energy-report support for San Francisco projects.

LRG prepares energy reports around your actual project: the scope of work, orientation, existing conditions, proposed construction, windows, and equipment. We confirm price and turnaround after reviewing the plans.

Start with the local resources.

San Francisco Planning maintains an ADU resource page for units added to existing and new residential buildings. Check the city’s current planning guidance alongside your building-permit requirements.

A detail to include in your email

Identify shared walls, floors, ceilings, and systems, along with any common or nonresidential areas.

Before you send the plans.

What if the ADU is inside a larger residential building?

Send the building layout, unit count, and information about spaces above, below, and beside the ADU. We review the building and project scope before confirming the report approach and quote.

What should I send to get started?

For every service, send the full project address, scope of work, complete floor-area breakdowns, site plan, fully dimensioned floor plans drawn to scale with a window and door schedule or size callouts, exterior elevations of all sides, and cross sections. Include structural drawings if available; otherwise, structural member sizes used in our calculations will be estimated based on experience. Include any specified or preferred window U-factor and SHGC values, insulation R-values, HVAC size and type, and water-heater size and type. View the complete plan checklist →

Do you guarantee approval of the report?

Yes. We guarantee approval of the Title 24 report. Plan-check corrections are included when they are not caused by changes to the plans originally reviewed. Design changes may be required to achieve energy compliance and registry approval. The guarantee covers the Title 24 report, not approval of the entire project or issuance of a building permit.
